1WW 212 Wally’s Walk

Dr Marina Junqueira Santiago is opening up the MEDI1400 tutorial to provide you with an opportunity to observe teaching – live and in-person, as part of our ‘Open for Observation’ program in Session 1. Register below to observe this class.

The teacher: Dr Marina Junqueira Santiago is a Senior Lecturer in the Macquarie Medical School, Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences.

The class: MEDI1400 Foundations of Learning, Communication and Teamwork: The class is offered face to face only and is based on the Flipped Classroom model with structure and activities to increase students’ engagement. This unit is part of the Bachelor of Clinical Science.

Before the class: Please contact Marina via email prior to attending the class (.marina.junqueirasantiago@mq.edu.au). Download the observation Reflection Sheet and read the MEDI1400 Unit Guide. It is recommended that observers check the iLearn space under the week they are observing. Because it is a flipped classroom model, it would make it a more complete experience.

During the class: Consider the prompts on this guided Reflection Sheet as you observe the class. Marina is interested in receiving some general feedback from you about the class, so consider that too as you observe.

After the class: If you would like to arrange an informal chat with Marina after the class as an opportunity to ask any questions about the class and to reflect on your experience, please email Marina directly (marina.junqueirasantiago@mq.edu.au).
