The learning and teaching Podcast Discussion Club is like a book club… but with podcasts!
No homework required! Just come along to the meeting and we’ll take care of the rest. We’ll play selected excerpts from L&T podcasts (3-5 minutes) and will then discuss what we’ve heard.
Our May discussion will focus on including teachers in inclusive teaching:
Many innovative and inclusive teaching practices require taking risks. However, as the guests of ‘Include Instructors in Inclusive Instruction’ podcast argue, not all instructors are in the privileged position to take any risks, especially if they are sessional or early in their careers and student ratings can negatively impact their career prospects. In this podcast discussion club, we’ll listen to some extracts from a podcast that discusses the experiences of ‘privileged’ and ‘less privileged’ teachers and some practical ways to include not only students, but diverse teachers in our teaching practice. No preparation is required- just come along.
We’ve selected these 4 audio extracts from the podcast ‘Include instructors in inclusive instruction’ (Tea for Teaching podcast series). You don’t need to listen to the audio prior to the meeting though as we will play them at the start of the meeting.
