Here are some ideas to guide your progress through the Developing Self and Others domain of the Professional Learning and Capability Enhancement (PLaCE) Framework:

  • Pursue advanced professional development in learning and teaching
  • Provide strategic support to enable to the professional teaching development of others

Develop your leadership in Developing Self and Others:

Analyse:Perform an analysis of L&T development needs of your department/faculty or broader university community and initiate and support projects that address them.  
Enrol:The Contemporary Approaches to University Teaching MOOC has a module on Leadership for learning and teaching. (Free self-paced).
Contribute:Join a learning and teaching professional body such as HERDSA, ASCILITE, CAULLT and contribute to the development of others.
Support:Present to the Teaching and Leadership Community of Practice to support the leadership capability development of others. Contact professional.learning@mq.edu.au
Facilitate:Facilitate peer review of teaching in your department/ discipline/ faculty. Encourage colleagues to participate in the Open for Observation program.
Create: Start a Community of Practice in your department/ discipline/ Faculty
