On the 20th of September, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Rorden Wilkinson, invited all Macquarie University staff to participate in a workshop to discuss the development of the Macquarie Advantage Education Strategy. If you haven’t yet had an opportunity to attend, please consider registering for a Macquarie Advantage staff workshop.

So far, over 300 staff have participated in a workshop and an additional two workshops have been scheduled:

  • Tuesday 10 October, 2:30pm – 4pm (100 Theatrette, 14 Sir Christopher Ondaatje Avenue)
  • Thursday 12 October, 1:30pm – 3pm (G03, 1 Wally’s Walk)

These workshops will be facilitated by the Dean of Students, Professor Mariella Herberstein, and the PVC Education, Professor Taryn Jones.

If you are unable to attend a workshop but still want to contribute, please keep an eye on your emails throughout October. All staff and students will be invited to participate in a survey on the development of the Macquarie Advantage.

An artwork is being commissioned for the strategy from currently enrolled Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students. The selected artwork will be part of the strategy’s branding, including external and international communication and promotional materials. Interested students can submit their artwork to Sam Ricketts (sam.ricketts@mq.edu.au). The deadline for artwork submission is 12pm, 23 October 2023.
