Not your typical careers fair, Jobs Happy Hour will be held on Thursday 27 April and will bring together students and employers in an event not to be missed.

More than 40 employers will be on-campus to recruit Macquarie students for a range of paid employment opportunities – casual, part-time, full-time positions and graduate development programs. Check out the full list of employers who will be at Jobs Happy Hour.

Thursday 27 April 2023
2:00pm – 4:00pm
Old Graduation Hall, 14 SCO

The event will once again be delivered by the Employability & Graduate Success team, and is also supported by City of Ryde Council and Connect Macquarie Park Innovation District.

In addition to meeting employers, students can:

  • get tips and tricks on professional business attire and styling from Zara
  • have a free professional photo taken for Linkedin
  • hear expert advice from SEEK, GradConnection and Study NSW
  • chat to a careers coach, and
  • enjoy the relaxed atmosphere with our favourite, DJ Nam.

And to make sure the event is as inclusive as possible, the majority of employers are open to hiring international students.  The Australian Network on Disability (AND) will be there to chat about support and opportunities available to students and graduates with a disability.

Tell your students about Jobs Happy Hour and come along too! Register now in Employability Connect.

But wait, there’s more!

To ensure students are well-prepared and make the most of Jobs Happy Hour, we have launched a collection of videos from students, employers and career coaches in our new Employability Connect digital library.  They are definitely worth a look and can be used in your classes.

Industry networking drinks

After the conclusion of the student part of Jobs Happy Hour, employers and University staff will enjoy an opportunity to network.  This will be held on Level 8 of 14SCO from 4.15pm to 5.30pm.  If you would like to attend to meet our industry partners, please RSVP to Marianne.Manila@mq.edu.au and advise of dietary requirements.  Numbers are limited so please get in early to be a part of the event.
