Discover how APA Academic Writer supports students, researchers, and teaching staff by joining us for a live demonstration – in-person or online.

When: Monday 15 July, 2024, 11:00am – 12:00pm

What is Academic Writer?

APA is widely used by academic staff and students and is one of the five referencing styles endorsed at Macquarie University (Taking the stress out of referencing).

Academic Writer is the American Psychological Association’s digital platform, designed to support students and researchers in all things related to the APA style. This resource is easy to navigate and includes guides, glossaries, tutorials, writing and referencing samples, and other learning tools to help you master APA. Whether you need to brush up on your academic writing style or you would like to share referencing support with your students, this workshop will help you get the most out of the platform.

Macquarie staff and students can access Academic Writer through MultiSearch. The Library has also created an APA referencing guide, which we encourage you to include in your iLearn units. Read Easy tips to support students referencing in 2024 for more information.

Who should attend the demonstration?

Anyone in our university community who uses APA style for referencing or writing is invited to attend. The demonstration will give an overview of Academic Writer and walk you through the three main centres on the platform: Learning, Referencing and Writing.
