Universities Australia on 26 February announced the 2023 Australian Awards for University Teaching (AAUT) winners. These awards celebrate and reward programs, practices and individuals that support students and enhance learning.

Citations recognise and reward the diversity of contributions made by individuals and teams to the quality of student learning.

Our 2023 AAUT recipients are:

Ms Charanya Ramakrishnan

Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning

Senior Lecturer, School of Computing – Faculty of Science and Engineering

For inspiring excellence in student learning through exploring and implementing unconventional active learning approaches in IT education to redefine student engagement and ensure positive graduate outcomes.  


Mr Shamim Joarder

Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning

Senior Learning Analytics Adviser, Learning Analytics – Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor(Education)

For an innovative online application to address the challenge of engaging, motivating, and supporting students with automated personalised early intervention for those at risk of failure.
