What could employability look like in curriculum and how can we develop students’ social and emotional selves at Macquarie?

As part of Phase One of implementing the Career & Employability Strategy across the Business School, we’ve been exploring this further through a number of pilots integrating employability into unit learning across Session 2.

So what have these pilots included? How have they gone and what has been the response from academics and our students?

Join us for this insightful and thought-provoking virtual Showcase to hear firsthand about these recent employability pilot experiences, outcomes and learnings.

Our panelists for this Showcase include:

·         Prashan Karunaratne – MQBS3010, Agility and Excellence in Business

·         Lawrence Ang – MMCC3199 Advanced Issues in Marketing and Media

·         Meena Chavan – MGMT3003, International Business Project

·         Matalena Tofa – MQBS3000 – Student Leadership in Community Engagement

·         Jarka Kunova, Careers Consultant, MQBS Careers

·         Student representatives from some of these units.

We’ll take you through the agile co-design and co-creation process between academics and MQBS Careers, share the employability learning activities in each unit, the impact of these for teachers and learners, and some recommendations for next steps.

This Q&A style panel session will provide some exciting introductory evidence for how developing students holistically can shift engagement, jointly enhance employability and discipline learning, along with teaching tools/ideas for augmenting your unit/course without needing to remove existing content.
