Have you noticed a new block appear in your iLearn unit over recent weeks? It sits conveniently in the lower right-hand corner of the screen and looks like this:

The block is designed as a convenient touchpoint for students to connect with online assignment support services during this period of rapid pedagogical change. Equitable access to study help, at the point of need, is critical to empowering students as they navigate the move to online learning due to COVID-19.

While the block links to established Macquarie learning support services, including StudyWISE, WriteWISE and the Numeracy Centre, it also introduces an online service that staff and students may be less familiar with: Studiosity.

Studiosity provides 24/7, year-round study help to all undergraduate and postgraduate coursework Macquarie University students including those enrolled with MUIC, ELC and Walanga Muru. Students can receive feedback on draft assignments, as well as on-demand assistance in key subjects, including English, Maths and Science (at foundation level), and Statistics, Economics and Accounting (for first-year students).

Professor Dominique Parrish, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Learning and Teaching) says, “for students, these services are integral to their academic success and we look forward to working with Studiosity over the next three years in delivering them.”
