Over the past few months, the Pro Vice Chancellor Learning and Teaching with the Strategy team in the Learning Innovation Hub (LIH) have been developing a comprehensive Professional Learning and Capability Enhancement (PLaCE) Framework.

The purpose of this Framework is to guide and support individual and institutional educational capability-building, learning and teaching career planning and progression, and structure professional learning opportunities for Macquarie learning and teaching staff.

The Framework’s design and development has involved significant research, benchmarking and mapping to relevant key national and international standards and best practice in learning and teaching in higher education. It also references Macquarie’s Academic Promotion Criteria and has been aligned with the HDR Supervision Framework and the Researcher Development Framework.

Over the month of September, the PVC L&T and the LIH will be conducting consultation sessions with key stakeholders across the University, seeking feedback on the current draft version of the framework. Following these sessions, a  ‘You said, We did’ summary of feedback will be communicated to all participants.

We will keep you informed in future posts about progress of this framework, along with further details as they emerge. If you require further information about the Professional Learning and Capability Enhancement (PLaCE) Framework consultation, please contact Dr Karina Luzia.
