These studio spaces are for staff-led learning and teaching initiatives.

Did you know there are 3 purpose built recording studios and spaces on campus for learning and teaching? These spaces were designed to create educational media, personal or desktop capture lecture and video recordings, other educational media such as welcome videos, flipped classroom resources and more.

Here is an outline of each space, what they can help you achieve, how you can book them and where to ask for support. 

2 First Walk, Studio 322, Learning Innovation Hub

You can use this studio to create

  • Desktop capture videos for online unit content
  • Flipped classroom video resources
  • Welcome videos
  • Profile Headshots (for grant applications)
  • Podcasts
  • Instructional videos

Features: Green Screen, white backdrop, black backdrop, professional lighting, microphones, teleprompter, Echo360 ‘Pod’ (a portable version of the classroom device) & Echo360 personal capture software, Screen Flow software. Extra equipment such as video and still cameras can be loaned.

Studio 322 – 360° Tour

Bookings: lih-sst@mq.edu.au. This studio space is for staff-led learning and teaching initiatives. If your booking sits outside of this criteria, submit a detailed outline of your requirements and the team will assess your request.

Please include the following details in your request:

  • What faculty and department are you from?
  • What resource is being produced?
  • What level of support do you require (equipment, training, etc)?
  • Proposed dates, times, and length of bookings (1-3 preferences of availability)

The LIH Educational Media Producers can also help you design and create your educational media, can help with scripting, direction, editing, animation and more.


4 Eastern Road, Studio 750, Faculty of Business and Economics

You can use this studio to create

  • Desktop capture videos for online unit content
  • Podcasts

Features: Computer with Camtasia software and Echo360 recording software, microphones.

Studio 750 – 360° Tour

Bookings: phil.goody@mq.edu.au. Phil can help with learning design and can offer editing tips and assistance.


12 Second Way, Level 5, AVTS Studio

You can use this studio to create

  • Desktop capture videos for online unit content
  • Flipped classroom video resources
  • Welcome videos
  • Podcasts

Features: Echo360 ‘Pod’ (a portable version of the classroom device), Echo360 personal capture software, microphones, lighting, 100% sound proof room, camera, computer monitor than can be used as a prompter.

AVTS Studio – 360° Tour

Bookings: pierre.bleiker@mq.edu.au. Pierre can offer assistance with operating equipment and best use cases.

The Learning and Teaching team in the Faculty of Human Sciences also have a studio in 12 Second Way, Level 5. Contact the Faculty of Human Sciences Learning Designers at fohs.lds@mq.edu.au for more information and bookings.

If you’re in MGSM, contact Sarah Halawani about a small working space, suitable only for short video recordings, in 6 Management Drive.
