The HEA Fellowship program is now open for its final intake for 2018. Macquarie staff interested in having their higher education practice and experience recognised through Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (now Advance HE) can formally register to apply by attending a HEA Information session (upcoming session dates and registration links below) in order to formally begin their application in June 2018.

HEA Fellowships formally recognise professional practice in higher education teaching and learning support through awarding fellowship to individuals whose higher education teaching experience, expertise, and practice has been aligned and assessed against the UK Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF). HEA Fellowships are an expected standard for university educators in the UK, and increasingly, internationally.

At Macquarie, applicants have access to four categories of Fellowship: Associate Fellowship, Fellowship, Senior Fellowship and Principal Fellowship . These categories span the expertise, experience and practice of all those teaching, supporting and leading learning and teaching at Macquarie, including sessional teachers and learning professional and support staff.

The benefits of HEA Fellowship include:

  • Portable international recognition of your commitment to and experience in higher education teaching and learning
  • Engagement in a practical application process based on reflecting on your professional practice
  • Consolidation of evidence of your professional experience in higher education teaching, learning support, and leadership
  • Entitlement to use post-nominals (AFHEA, FHEA, SFHEA, PFHEA) on your successful application.

At Macquarie, the HEA Fellowship program is open to all academics and professional teaching and learning support staff at all levels and career stages, and including fixed-term, casual, and sessional staff.
