The learning and teaching Podcast Discussion Club is like a book club… but with podcasts! If you love to talk about learning and teaching, then this club is for you!

Are Grades Damaging for Students? Join the Conversation!

Some university educators argue that traditional grading systems can harm students’ learning, self-esteem, mental health, and social justice. Do you agree? If so, what alternatives exist?

In our podcast discussion club this month, we’ll hear from an author of a new book on alternative grading. He will explore different options that university educators might consider.

Join us and engage in thought-provoking conversations—no preparation required!

What is the Podcast Club?

Each month interested MQ colleagues from across all disciplines meet to listen to a short extract from a podcast on a key topic relevant for learning and teaching. What follows is a lively discussion about the topic and how it applies to our teaching context.

No prior preparation needed—simply come ready to listen, share, and learn together. Whether you’re eager to contribute or prefer to absorb the discussion, you’re welcome. And feel free to bring a friend—the more perspectives, the richer the conversation.

If you are not already a Podcast Club member, please enter your email below and we will send you the calendar invitation and the Zoom link (or if the form does not open on your browser you can join the club here):
